It is a time that I have joked about for some time, but I really didn’t want to believe it would ever get here.
As Nikala, Ellexi and I were headed to a high school football game, Ellexi asked, more liked insisted, that she find me a buddy to sit with during the game. Nikala plays in the band during the games so she wasn’t real concerned. But Ellexi on the other hand clearly did not want to sit with Dad. At the game, Lexi took off to find a friend and I managed to sit with a few neighbors.
The following night was the homecoming dance. Nikala was going to the dance with a (boy) friend and then after the dance a group was gong to go to Chili’s to have appetizers and drinks. I then asked if I could help drive the kids from the dance to Chili’s and I got an overwhelming “NO.”
